The inward – an intuitive spiritual Knowledge is inherent in Islam an din conveyed by Allah to His chosen few (2:105). Allah’s Messenger (Blessings of Allah and Peace be on him) was gifted by Allah the hidden secret knowledge (53 : 10, 11, 18). A life replete with Taqwa and Tasawwuf is necessary to achieve this spiritual knowledge. Allah’s Messenger (Blessing of Allah and Peace be on him), Ahle Bait, Sahabas, Tabeyieen, Tahireen and later on other pious Muslims practised extreme peity, prayers, fastings, simplicity, austerity, patience, solitude and love, fear and glorification of Allah (Taqwa and Zikr). This lead to sufism, mysticism which later became a branch of Islamic philosophy.

Sufism travelled from Iraq Persia and then into India. Many Sufi orders spread out showing the way to achieve salvation. It is based on the theory of love of Allah and complete surrender to the Divine Will of Allah.

Hazrat Khwaja Mueenuddin Hasan Chishty ((Allah's Mercy be on him),a great saint, introduced the Sufic Chishtiya order in India. Hazrat Khwaja Sahab was the diciple (Mureed) of Hazrat Khwaja Usman-e- Harooni (Allah's Mercy be on him). A religious preceptor, a teacher (peer-o-murshad is necessary to reach the spiritual stage, to develop an inner inherent love of Allah and piety ; and uprot and avoid anyrhing disliked by Allah. Due to his intense purity, piety and sincere devotion to Allah, Hazrat Khwaja Sahab was endowed with clairvoyance (Kashf). He used his supernatural powers to propogate Islam and this he performed many miracles (karamat) by the Grace of Allah.
