Hazrat Khwaja Sahab and his father left Sanjar and reached Neeshapur, a well known intellectual town. There they bought an orchard with a windmill and settled peacefully. His father passed away in 552 A.H., when Hazrat Khwaja Sahab was 15 years old. Hazrat Khwaja Garibnawaz (Allah's Mercy be on him) worked in the orchard as it was the only means of livelihood, but the prayed regularly and even helped needy persons. One day he met a saint, Hazrat Ibrahim Qardozi (Allah's Mercy be on him) and his life changed. Hazrat Khwaja Sahab offered some grapes to the mystic and in return the latter gave Hazrat Khwaja Sahab Sonkhur (till cakes) with blessing. No sooner did he eat it then his heart was enlightened. He disposed all his things and belongings and distributed the proceedings among the poor and needy and set off in quest of knoweledge and truth. He came to Bokhara and mastered Oriental sciences and litereture. Later he preceeded to Samarqand and perfected in philosophy and grammar. Then from Khina and Tus he came to Haruan (Haroon). |
